What you'll do
- Define and evolve data platform architecture using Databricks
- Translate business and analytics requirements into scalable data models and integration designs
- Design lakehouse architecture and ETL/ELT solutions based on Spark and Delta Lake
- Establish standards for ingestion, transformation, data quality, governance, and access control
- Own architectural decisions and guide engineering teams through implementation, reviewing architectural decisions along the way
- Assess trade-offs across scalability, performance, maintainability, and cost
- Explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions
What you bring
- Proven experience as a Data Architect
- Practical hands-on expertise with Databricks
- Experience with lakehouse architecture, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake
- Strong knowledge of data modeling and ETL/ELT design
- Strong SQL and Python/PySpark skills
- Experience with data governance, security, data quality, and lineage (Unity Catalog is a plus)
- Ability to own architectural decisions and guide implementation
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- English level B2
- Experience with Unity Catalog
- Cloud provider certifications (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and Databricks certifications
