We’re looking for a Senior Client Partner to run a $10M East Coast portfolio as a business — owning executive relationships, account growth, retention, and commercial performance across 10–15 client relationships.

This is not a relationship-management-only role. A key part of your role will be to identify and develop expansion opportunities across the portfolio, including upsell and cross-sell. AI-enabled delivery gives you a new way to reopen strategic conversations in established accounts and expand Vention’s role beyond the original scope. Vention’s CTOs, Solution Architects, Delivery leaders, and AI experts can join those conversations when deeper technical context is needed.

As Vention grows toward $250M+ in annual revenue, you’ll have a meaningful role in turning strong delivery into broader, longer-term client partnerships.

Vention today

Vention helps companies build new products and improve how existing software is developed through AI-enabled delivery and Agentic Engineering.

For established products, we identify where AI can reduce development time, improve quality, or lower cost, then focus on the areas with the greatest business impact. For new products, we help clients put the right AI-enabled delivery approach in place from the start.

We have applied the same principles internally, developing the practices and frameworks behind Spec-Driven Development and Agentic Engineering and now using them in client work.

Many of our client relationships span years, growing from an initial engagement into broader partnerships across products, platforms, and delivery transformation. Clients also return to Vention with new areas of their business to develop.

This is backed by more than 20 years of software engineering experience, 250+ active clients today, and successful partnerships with companies including IBM, PayPal, PwC, Brex, Postman, and ClassPass.

What you’ll do
  • Own a $10M portfolio across 10–15 high-growth client relationships, with responsibility for retention, expansion, commercial performance, and long-term account health
  • Identify and develop upsell and cross-sell opportunities, including where AI-enabled delivery, modernization, or new product work can expand Vention’s role
  • Lead QBRs, strategic account reviews, and executive conversations, turning delivery results, client signals, and future priorities into clear next steps
  • Develop and execute account plans around each client’s product roadmap, business priorities, and delivery needs
  • Build strong relationships with founders, CTOs, and other senior stakeholders through consistent, strategic engagement
  • Monitor account performance, client satisfaction, and risk, and act early when retention or growth is at stake
  • Work closely with Sales, Delivery, Marketing, and technical leaders to bring the right expertise into the account and align Vention’s services with client goals
  • Act as a trusted advisor on how clients can scale products, engineering organizations, and delivery models
  • Use internal tools and AI-supported account insights to prioritize opportunities, surface risks earlier, and reduce manual account-management work
What you bring
  • 5+ years of experience in account or delivery management within software/IT, ideally in IT consulting or technical recruitment
  • Proven experience managing $5M–$10M portfolios and 8–15+ concurrent client relationships
  • A strong record of building and growing client relationships — navigating complex stakeholders, driving retention, and expanding accounts through upsell and cross-sell
  • Accountability for key commercial metrics, including NRR and contribution margin, with strong risk management and outcome-based planning skills
  • Deep understanding of the full SDLC, delivery processes, and engineering team models, with the credibility to work across both executive and technical conversations
  • The ability to spot commercial opportunities inside delivery challenges and broader client priorities
  • The confidence to take ownership, make judgment calls when the path is not fully defined, and stand your ground with clients when needed
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, while keeping structure and accountability across multiple accounts
What you’ll have behind you
  • A focused portfolio with real ownership. You’ll be responsible for retention, expansion, margin, and long-term health across a defined group of strategic accounts
  • A strong track record of growing strategic accounts. Our DealCloud team grew from 6 to 126 professionals and supported the company through its acquisition by Intapp. Vention also supported ClassPass from Series A through its growth into a $1B business
  • Technical depth in the room. Vention’s CTOs, Solution Architects, Delivery leaders, and AI experts can join account planning and client conversations when deeper technical context is needed
  • A new way to reopen strategic conversations. AI-enabled delivery gives you a reason to return to established clients with new opportunities around speed, quality, cost, modernization, and broader delivery transformation
  • An established Client Partnerships model with room to influence it. You’ll work within proven US processes while bringing account insight back into how the function develops
What you’ll get

Alongside the ownership to run a substantial portfolio and grow strategic accounts, you’ll also have:

  • Hybrid work with two days per week in our New York office
  • 100% employer-covered medical insurance, including dependents
  • Dental and vision coverage available for employees and dependents
  • 401(k) with a 4% company match
  • Leadership coaching and a professional development budget
  • Two weeks of PTO in the first year, increasing with tenure
  • Winter break and two volunteer days
  • Access to employee discounts through the Insperity Marketplace
  • A pet-friendly New York office and regular team events
