Project description
With the residential property sector falling behind in its adoption of digital technologies, Carson Living wanted to create an all-in-one remote doorman and virtual concierge system that would open the door — both literally and figuratively — to a more connected and personalized living experience.
Our next move was to integrate the solution with mission-critical hardware — including keyless electronic locks, live cameras, and wearables — which allowed for easy remote access and control of all rental properties listed in the system. What’s more, we added hundreds of new buildings to the platform, enabling brokers to schedule more self-guided apartment tours and, as a result, improve productivity.
As the company’s API servers were experiencing frequent traffic spikes, our team also fine-tuned API architecture and set up load balancers to drive system responsiveness and overall business continuity.
To support development in a highly complex environment spanning web, mobile, hardware integrations, and high-load APIs, the team leveraged Claude Code as an engineering assistant to enhance documentation and architectural workflows.
Claude Code was used to capture technical decisions, explore architecture options, and keep documentation up to date. Over time, it also became a dynamic knowledge base, a kind of second brain that helped engineers quickly access prior context, patterns, and insights. This setup reflects Vention’s AI-enabled teams model, where AI supports both execution and engineering decision-making.
The result
And in 2021, they doubled our team to build more premier-yet-accessible solutions for millions of property managers and residents across the United States.
