What you'll do
- Improve and maintain database environments with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability
- Act as a bridge between Architecture, Development, and Data Science teams on database topics
- Identify, investigate, and resolve performance issues end-to-end (from triage to production validation)
- Optimize high-load MySQL systems (50k+ QPS) and ensure readiness for data growth
- Review and improve database schemas, queries, and application database changes before release
- Support database design and evolution together with engineering teams
- Improve monitoring, tooling, and processes to detect issues early (performance, security)
- Ensure database security best practices and compliance standards
- Contribute to incident management and help meet SLOs with Platform Reliability teams
- Maintain clear and up-to-date database documentation
What you bring
- Strong experience with relational databases in high-load, production systems
- Solid understanding of SQL, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning
- Experience with replication, backup, and recovery concepts in SQL databases
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational database systems
- Strong Linux administration skills
- Experience with schema design and database troubleshooting
- Ability to proactively detect and solve performance issues
- Understanding of database security best practices
- B2 level of English, both written and spoken
