• Analyze and optimize slow PostgreSQL queries, with focus on complex CTE-based aggregation and hierarchical data processing
• Optimize high-impact endpoints generating large database load (up to millions of rows per request)
• Improve schema design, indexing strategy, and data access patterns to reduce query latency
• Review and tune PostgreSQL internals (statistics, vacuuming, bloat, execution plans)
• Monitor and optimize database performance (connections, memory, I/O, locks) in Cloud SQL or equivalent environments
• Run benchmarking and load testing to define performance baselines and identify system limits
• Define and support a scaling strategy for large datasets and future model growth
• Plan and execute PostgreSQL version upgrades with minimal downtime and stable query plans
• Support schema migrations for evolving API and data requirements, including rollback strategies
• Deliver clear performance reports with bottlenecks, root causes, and prioritized fixes

• Strong experience with relational databases in production environments
• Advanced SQL skills (CTEs, window functions, recursive queries, large-scale aggregations)
• Strong ability to analyze query execution plans
• Experience with indexing strategies, schema design, and query optimization
• Solid understanding of database performance tuning (statistics, vacuuming/bloat concepts, memory, I/O, connections)
• Experience with managed relational database services (e.g. Cloud SQL, AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL or equivalents) will be a plus
• Proven ability to troubleshoot performance issues on large datasets and high-load systems
• Experience with benchmarking and load testing databases, including identifying performance limits
• Experience with database migrations and upgrades in production environments
• B2 level of English, both written and spoken
